From quotation to clarification

- Correct and export: use Edit fields & source to check values and matches. Confirm USD before exporting a PDF report or Excel-ready CSV.
Matching starts with normalized part numbers or your explicit choices. An identifier match does not establish technical suitability. Keep the buyer’s required parts list beside the report: an item omitted by every supplier cannot be detected from offers alone.
Practical marine procurement resources
Before you start
Are my supplier quotations uploaded?
No. The comparison tool reads document contents in browser memory. It does not send them to a server, OCR provider or AI service. Clearing or reloading discards the session. Reports you download are files you must store appropriately.
Can I compare scanned PDFs or different currencies?
Version 1 supports selectable-text PDFs and CSV, in USD only. OCR and currency conversion are not supported. PDF layouts vary: every extracted or inferred field needs your review.
Does the lowest total identify the best supplier?
No. A known total can exclude unknown tax, freight or missing scope. Unequal quantities, different units and unconfirmed specifications require clarification. QuoteLens makes no automatic purchase recommendation.
Can I use the comparison in Excel?
Yes. Export a UTF-8 CSV, then open it in Excel or use Data → From Text/CSV with a comma delimiter. The export is an audit-oriented report, not a formatted multi-sheet workbook. It includes source references, unresolved issues and clarification questions.
Is the tool free to try?
The current early validation version has no sign-in, subscription or payment gateway. It is not an independently audited or certified commercial service.
